Beloved Seattle-based radio station KEXP was recently given a complete revamp to their facilities to continue championing contemporary arts. Under Microsoft’s Music x Technology initiative, We Are Listen tapped artist and technical director David Crumley to develop a fresh look for KEXP's new, much larger, live performance room. 

Together with strategic partners Slanted Studios and Hardwork Party, Crumley created a wraparound lo-res LED wall with custom software. The LED lights are an appreciative nod to the charm of the Christmas lights in KEXP’s original live performance room, where fans saw new and established artists perform.

The KEXP team can select from a library of animations, as well as make custom changes, allowing endless unique artist interactions and performances. Slanted Studios is proud to have collaborated with Hard Work Party and David Crumley on another custom interactive installation piece that combines thoughtful artistry with modern technology.
